In our third assignment we where to pick a word and create a photo based on that word and its antonym. I chose the word country to work with. With one of the synonyms being rustic, I chose a barn that was weathered and dilapidated. In this picture I added the two cows to give the picture a statement about the way we are losing the farmers in our country. To create this photo I used the magic wand to first cut the cows out of another photo I had taken then placed them on to the first picture. In the photo for the antonym I decided to use a photo of Louisville. While this picture seems simply I had to add the sunset back ground. The direction that this photo was taken is looking towards the south and would not have the sunset in it. This photo was created by taking a photo of Louisville and cropping out some of the unwanted areas in the photo. I then used the magic wand to cut out the bottom halve of the photo. After placing the section of Louisville on the background photo of the sunset, I removed some of the sections that were visible from the sunset photo that did not belong, using the clone stamp.

Using photoshop I decided to give a new horse the dream of running and winning the derby. By adding a photo of horses running the derby and then reducing the opacity of that picture gives the illusion of the horse dreaming. I then added the roses that are put on the wining horse after winning the derby, by reducing the opacity of the roses to give the appearance of it being more of a dream. Using photoshop is not as hard as it seems once you start to play around with the various aspects.

I chose these images because of the different aspects that where represented in each. The first photo is of my beautiful wife at my nieces wedding. I used two layers in adobe photo shop to remove any blemishes that I found using the eraser tool then the healing tool. I also lightened the photo to enhance some of the features. This photo was taken with me standing above her at an angle. The next photo is of a tree that sits on the Spalding campus. I decided that the way the tree was sitting that the middle would be a perfect place to put an eye. With the texture that I chose for the main picture, and the photo of the eye overlaid on it gives the eye almost a transparent look. After cropping the picture of the eye, then overlaying on the photo of the tree, I then erased any overhanging portions of the eye photo.
